WEST VIRGINIA STUDENTS INTERN IN ROCKEFELLER'S WASHINGTON OFFICE

- Students from Jefferson, Kanawha, Hancock, Brooke and Monroe Counties Working in Senator's Office -

WASHINGTON, D.C. —U.S. Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) announced today that five students from across West Virginia recently started working as interns in his office. While in the Senator's Washington office, they will be assisting the Senator's staff and learning about the functions of a Senate office.

     "Interning on Capitol Hill is a wonderful learning experience for students from West Virginia," said Rockefeller. "This internship gives students hands-on experience working in government as well as the opportunity to explore a career in public service. I thank the interns for all of their hard work throughout their month here."

     The following are Rockefeller's summer interns who started in June. Additional interns will be announced for July.

Patrick Robertson - Weirton, West Virginia
     Patrick, a recent graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, is the son of David Robertson and Lucinda Robertson. He interned in the Senator's office last summer and this year is serving as Intern Coordinator all summer.

Tom Burns - Bethany, West Virginia
     Tom will be senior at Bethany College this fall, pursuing a degree in Political Science and History. He is the son of John and Anne Burns. He will be interning all summer.

Angela Allen - Lindside, West Virginia
     A junior at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Angela is majoring in Political Science with minors in International Relations and Art. She is the daughter of Richard and Gayle Allen and will be interning for the month of June.

Kyler Barr - Shepherdstown, West Virginia
     Kyler, the son of Keegan and Cindy Barr, will begin his senior year at West Virginia University this fall. He is currently majoring in Political Science and History. Kyler will be working for the month of June.

Scott Adams - Charleston, West Virginia
     Scott is a major at Colgate University in Hamilton, New York. He is the son of Harry Adams III and Candace Adams and will be interning during the month of June.
