BUCKHANNON RESIDENT INTERNS IN ROCKEFELLER'S WASHINGTON OFFICE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) announced today that William James (Jamie) O’Brien of Buckhannon is participating in a four-week intern program in his Washington, DC office. During his internship, Jamie will be learning about procedures in the United States Senate, while also helping the Senator and his staff with legislative research relating to Rockefeller’s committee assignments.

"Internships provide students with hands-on experience working in government, as well as the opportunity to explore a career in public service," Rockefeller said. "Interns are a huge help to both me and my staff, and I am glad to be able to give young West Virginians like Jamie the chance to help their state."

Jamie is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Lee O’Brien of Buckhannon. He is currently a rising senior at Ohio Wesleyan University where he is pursuing a degree in history and psychology. After college, he hopes to enter law school and pursue a career as a lawyer. Law has interested Jamie since his childhood when he would visit the law offices of his late grandfather, William Talbot O’Brien. He hopes to enter a field of law that is inclusive of his interest in foreign affairs.
