SENATOR ROCKEFELLER ANNOUNCES THE APPOINTMENT OF CRAIG J. SPERLAZZA OF WEIRTON TO THE UNITED STATES AIR FORCE ACADEMY
WASHINGTON- Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) announced today that Carl J. Sperlazza has received an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy. Sperlazza is a resident of Weirton.
"I had the honor of nominating Carl Sperlazza for an appointment to the Air Force Academy," said Rockefeller. "I am confident that Carl is an excellent candidate to represent West Virginia and the United States in the Air Force."
Carl Sperlazza attended Brooke High School and participated in numerous clubs including the Key Club, Chemistry Club, SADD and Ski Club. He also participated in football, track and basketball. In addition to his school and sports activities, Carl volunteered with the elderly, participated in Kiwanis and Lions Clubs and taught Sunday School at his church.
