West Virginia Facilities
Senator Rockefeller has a long history of supporting West Virginia's veterans facilities. Since coming into office, Senator Rockefeller has been instrumental in bringing 16 new VA facilities to West Virginia. He worked to create Community Based Outpatient Clinics in 1996 and has fought to open more clinics so that quality medical care can be closer to where veterans live - improving access and convenience. He has spearheaded efforts to construct a state veteran's nursing home in Clarksburg, and he authorized $20 million in funding for the Beckley nursing home project.
Today, thanks to Senator Rockefeller's efforts, there are four VA Medical Centers and nine Community Based Outpatient Clinics.
West Virginia also has a veterans' home in Barboursville and two National Cemeteries.
