Senator Rockefeller Sees 21st Century Skills at Work at Ashton Elementary School
Senator Jay Rockefeller spent the day at Ashton Elementary School in Mason County, where he visited a third grade class and computer lab to view the benefits of the 21st Century Skills Learning Partnership firsthand. This initiative seeks to extend core subject areas to include skills in life and career; contextual learning; thinking and innovation; and information, media literacy and technology.
Rockefeller has introduced legislation, the 21st Century Skills Partnership Incentive Fund, which provides federal matching funds to eligible states that secure new funds to invest in this priority.
